This JATC changed its process in October 2026 and older notices describing the previous one are still on its site — use the October 2026 notice. Applications reopen October 1, 2026 through a new TradeSchool portal. A $50.00 fee is payable by Visa, MasterCard or Discover online, or by check or money order in person; no cash. You then have 30 days to finalise the application or the fee must be paid again, and 14 days to complete the Personal Experience Form once invited.

Aptitude battery: GAN
This JATC uses the GAN Aptitude Test Battery, a different test: reading, numerical computation, numerical reasoning, paper folding, problem solving and mechanical comprehension. It is not the two-section electrical training ALLIANCE test, and preparing only for algebra and reading will leave you short.
- Testing frequency
- After successful completion of the PEF, applicants are scheduled for an in-person Aptitude Test at the Training Center on a date sent by email. Failure to attend results in a score of 0 — there are no make-up sessions. Classes start up to five times per year.
- Score threshold
- The aptitude test has no minimum score to move forward. However, only top candidates will receive an interview.
- Retake wait
- Those individuals not selected for an in-person interview will then be instructed to begin the application process again where a new application fee will be required.
