Aptitude battery: GAN
This JATC uses the GAN Aptitude Test Battery, a different test: reading, numerical computation, numerical reasoning, paper folding, problem solving and mechanical comprehension. It is not the two-section electrical training ALLIANCE test, and preparing only for algebra and reading will leave you short.
- Application window
- Online applications are accepted year-round. The Fall 2026 application period ran June 16 – September 30, 2026.
- Testing frequency
- GAN Aptitude Testing is held four times per year, administered by GAN Human Resources at the JATC facility in St. Michael, Minnesota.
- Score threshold
- No minimum score. The GAN Aptitude Test makes up 50% of a 0–100 application score, combined with the Personal Experience Form and a letter of recommendation.
- Retake wait
- Applicants are only eligible to retake the test after one year on the Eligibility List.
