Applications are CLOSED from August 1, 2026 to October 31, 2026 while the JATC updates its application process and application costs. Official transcripts are still accepted during the closure. Transcripts must include one full credit of Algebra and a graduation date; a GED is acceptable for the graduation date.

Aptitude battery: eTA

This JATC uses the electrical training ALLIANCE aptitude test battery: 33 algebra and functions questions in 46 minutes, then 36 reading comprehension questions in 51 minutes, 97 minutes of testing in total.

Testing frequency
The Committee interviews and accepts apprentices year-round on a monthly basis based on the needs of the Industry. Those who qualify and who have submitted the required documents are eligible to take the aptitude test. Someone who can substantiate 4,000 hours of on-the-job electrical construction experience can be exempted from the algebra and aptitude test requirements.
Score threshold
Those who achieve qualifying scores on the aptitude test are scheduled for an interview with the JATC Apprenticeship Committee. No numeric cut score is published by this JATC.
