New applications are paused. Effective September 1, 2026 the Omaha Joint Electrical Training Center has paused the acceptance of new applications; applications started before that date continue to be processed, tested and interviewed. Normally applications are accepted year-round with a $20.00 fee, and all requirements must be completed within 90 days from the date of application.

Aptitude battery: eTA

This JATC uses the electrical training ALLIANCE aptitude test battery: 33 algebra and functions questions in 46 minutes, then 36 reading comprehension questions in 51 minutes, 97 minutes of testing in total.

Testing frequency: The aptitude test is administered by the Omaha JEATC office at 8960 L St. Suite 200. Any applicant who has submitted a high school transcript or GED and a valid driver's license qualifies for the next available test; you cannot be scheduled until all of those are in. Interviews are generally monthly, and applicants are notified of their score by email.
Score threshold: The test will be graded with a score from 1 through 9, with 9 being the highest. You must achieve a score of at least 4 to qualify for an interview.
Retake wait: If you were interviewed but not selected, you cannot re-apply for one (1) year from the date of your interview, unless after 90 days from the initial interview with the JATC, you have gained at least 450 hours of work experience in the electrical construction industry, or successfully completed two or more post-secondary electrical trade related classes, you may request a re-interview with the JATC.
