This JATC uses the electrical training ALLIANCE aptitude test battery: 33 algebra and functions questions in 46 minutes, then 36 reading comprehension questions in 51 minutes, 97 minutes of testing in total.

Application window: Applications are accepted only during the first 7 days of each month, online only — the website application will not work outside those 7 days, and applications are not accepted in person. All applicants pay a $25.00 non-refundable application fee, no personal checks. Applicants providing proof of at least 4,000 substantiated electrical construction work hours are exempt from some requirements.
Testing frequency: Applications can take up to 6 months to complete, including both the test and interview portions. After submitting online, you are scheduled to take a test after 2-3 months; reviewing your test score can take up to a month; if you receive a passing grade you are contacted within 1-2 months to schedule an interview.
Score threshold: Qualify for an interview by obtaining a passing score on the electrical trade's aptitude test developed and validated by the American Institutes for Research. No numeric cut score is published by this JATC.
