Required: a valid driver's license (state ID and other forms of ID are not accepted), Social Security card, birth certificate in English or certified translation, high school diploma or GED, DD-214 for veterans, and a $25 money order for the application fee — cash is not accepted.

This JATC uses the electrical training ALLIANCE aptitude test battery: 33 algebra and functions questions in 46 minutes, then 36 reading comprehension questions in 51 minutes, 97 minutes of testing in total.
- Testing frequency
- Once you've submitted your complete application with all required documents, you'll receive a letter within a few weeks with your Aptitude Test date. The test is offered every 5–6 weeks. If you don't receive your letter within 3–4 weeks, contact the Apprenticeship Office.

- The test is offered every 5–6 weeks, and a passing score of 3 or higher moves you one step closer to joining the IBEW Local 130 Apprenticeship Program.
